Moissanite

Discover Moissanite

Moissanite, or silicon carbide, is a rare, near-colorless jewel that is appreciated for its own qualities: more fire that is two and a half times more than a diamond's, and 10% more brillinace than a diamond's. It is also one of the hardest substances in the world.

Moissanite was discovered in 1893 by French Nobel-winning scientist, Dr. Henri Moissan, as he examined tiny sparkly particles taken from the Canyon Diablo meteor crater in Arizona. It was only ten years ago that Charles & Colvard developed the technology to create sizable and cuttable Moissanite. Charles & Colvard is the sole global distributor of Moissanite. This extremely hard jewel is guaranteed to retain its brilliance for a lifetime.
